2022 was a wild ride for KC Brick Store! We’d like to give a huge thank you to our fantastic customers and staff for what was a terrific first 8 months. We had a grand opening beyond our wildest dreams, hosted many birthday parties, launched our rewards program, reached nearly 6000 followers on facebook, and experienced our first holiday season as a retail store! And throughout all of these moments, we’ve had the opportunity and pleasure to get to know so many truly wonderful people. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you all so much!
We are very excited about the future at KC Brick Store, and we wanted to share some of our plans for continuing to improve in 2023! Here are our top 3 goals for the upcoming year.
1. Open An Online Store
One of the top requests we get is “can I buy from you online?”. Up until now, we’ve focused exclusively on in-store sales, but we are working on setting up an online store and plan to have it available shortly. It will have limited selection at first; our goal is to roll it out slowly as we figure out the best way to handle packaging, shipping, and order management. We’d also like to stress that everything will be available in store first before it is listed online. We want to give our local store visitors first dibs at anything that comes in, so any new items will be exclusively available in the store for a few weeks before they are listed online.
2. Improve Our Response Time
It’s no secret that our response times have been pretty slow, especially over email. This year we’re going to work on replying with quotes sooner so you don’t have to wait so long to sell! This will also make in-store selling to us faster because there will be less items for us to quote out in-person.
3. Expand Our Inventory
We have a lot of inventory that we currently don’t have displayed. Robotics sensors, more Duplo and Quatro bricks, more greenery, animals, technic, many different themes of minifigs, train parts, specialty bricks, and more! We’re working on getting these items into our system and out onto the floor so we can provide a better selection to our customers.
